It’s the spring of 1995, a sunny day was unearthing itself as I was being born into an oblivious life. With no clue what was waiting, my days began counting. No one would have guessed that this person is not going to lead a typical life.
20 years have passed, with all the troubles and fascinating stories the world can throw. It became a hobby of mine to walk in the evening in the forest next to my home, trying to focus on the tiny details that go unnoticed in our everyday endeavour. The place seemed as calm as always, with the tiny creatures forming their own kingdoms of magic, the wind touching every leaf as it walks by, and the unseen stargazing creatures that once formed the early life, leaving their prints till this day.
With all that unnatural nature, a light coming from the ground caught my eye, and my curiosity won again. As I moved closer, a rock was hiding beneath the dirt, emitting a glow of unearthly colors. It might’ve sounded like a bad idea, but wouldn’t you want to hold it? I did…
As my finger went closer and closer, I could feel the thickness of the air around it, the energy of a thousand cold light, the stars and the oceans colliding. I touched it, and the world never became the same again.
The sky cracked, the earth shattered, I saw myself and everyone else in a blink of an eye. The past, the future, the present in all their forms unfolded in front of me, the world as it was and how it could’ve been. Time stopped and went back and forth, I knew everything, every secret of life, every whisper humankind spoke, every major and minor note, how the universe became and every other parallel of it. I held the knowledge, the data of every atom, like a black hole that took swallowed everything, only to unleash it at once.
This stone was not a mere stone, it was the formation of everything, the reason behind the movement of stars, the language we created, the dawn of technology and the cause of existence itself.
I was not shook, nor worried, I knew everything already and how things will be. I held the superpower of information itself, a tool that I needed to figure its usage…
One would think that with such a power you need to change the world. But that was far from true. The charm of existence is its apparent chaos, the unexpected and thrilling ways things unfold. Omniscience was exciting, yet not a responsibility. I knew if I middled with the free will of humans, I’d be depriving the core that this universe was built upon. I became an observant, a spectator, and with the Pi of the universe revealed, life seemed beautifully absurd.
It’s been a forever wish to fix everything wrong in this world, but what is truly wrong? Isn’t this what we all worked for, to build our own self unto what we do? Even if the ending was imminent, it won’t matter no more to me.
I was offered a chance to be anything in this world, but I choose not to be what I want, but what I need; a human.
